About us
We love fishing,
not ghost gear.
I lost my first crab pot underneath the Golden Gate Bridge.
I thought I was a careless idiot, but it turns out I'm not alone.
Lost fishing equipment is a massive global problem--particularly derelict crab pots.
In Washington state alone, thousands of pots go missing annually. So what? Well, unlike other ocean detritus made famous by the great parcific garbage patch, lost fishing gear, and particularly lost crab pots, continue to trap and kill their target species long after they're lost. One study estimates the abandoned crab pots in Washington kill 200,000 crabs a year.
